The Abirami Women Development Trust (AWDT), a registered non-profit organization based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu aimed at empowering economically disadvantaged women, girls, and transgender individuals. AWDT has a strong track record of empowering vulnerable groups, including women, girls, and transgender individuals, through various initiatives in education, health, and livelihood development. Established in 2009, the Trust is dedicated to uplifting those from socially deprived and economically backward communities.

Our AWDT organisation have come forward to provide food to daily wagers, homeless and other people affected by the curfew imposed in Trichy in view of the coronavirus pandemic.Organisation of AWDT distributed around 1,000 food packets to people in the past days of covidm19 crisis.. Volunteers reached out to people affected by the lockdown, especially daily wagers, and provided them food.
